A Wright & Son Ironwood Senator with Worked Back

£99.00

Compare

The Ironwood Senator is a peach of a pocket knife, with a ‘lamb foot’ blade ground to a fine point, giving this double bolster knife a fine appearance to complement the finely detailed workback on the spring. The brass linings have delicate file work on the edges, further complementing the craftsmanship. Desert Ironwood is among the densest and hardest woods in the world – so dense that it sinks in water, though is resistant to rot. Along with Snakewood, it is one of the most highly prized woods in knife making.

Product Description

The Arthur Wright family has been making high quality pocket knives in Sheffield since just after the Second World War. All the knives are still individually hand crafted by apprenticed Sheffield Cutlers, using methods passed down from generation to generation. Every process is completed in-house, from blanking out the blades and springs, hardening and tempering, assembly, grinding and glazing – right up to the final polishing of the steel. The senator is a peach of a pocket knife, with a ‘lamb foot’ blade ground to a fine point, giving this double bolster knife a fine appearance to complement the finely detailed workback on the spring.
